Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues was released in theaters in late December and has made over $122 million so far at the box office. That’s not bad for a film with a $50 million budget. Anytime a studio makes a sequel to a beloved movie like the original Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, they risk tarnishing the original and alienating fans. It seems like they did it right with this sequel though; it’s been profitable, and it even got good reviews. So far it’s running with about 75% positive reviews according to Rotten Tomatoes, which is good for a silly comedy like this movie.
Most football fans know that the Denver Broncos will be hosting the New England Patriots on Sunday in the AFC Championship game. The game’s winner goes to the Super Bowl. The Denver Broncos looked good last weekend in the NFL divisional playoffs against the San Diego Chargers (see highlights from the NFL divisional playoff). You’ve got to figure the Broncos will be the favorite against the Patriots, particularly with their quarterback, Peyton Manning, having a historic year in which he set NFL records for passing yards and touchdowns.
Below is a comedic video that ESPN created subjecting the Denver Broncos’ Peyton Manning to an interview with Anchorman‘s Rob Burgundy (played by comedian Will Ferrell). Peyton is a good sport as usual. Manning plays a really good comedy straight man to be honest. He did a good job when he hosted Saturday Night Live a few years ago, and he could be good at comedy when he gets done with football as long as he plays the right kinds of roles. Watch as Ron Burgundy interviews the Denver Broncos’ quarterback in the video below. What sort of asinine questions does The Anchorman have in store? If you like it, ‘Share’ it.
