When you test two luxury cars that are worth over $600,00 combined, you may find yourself wanting to get a bit more creative with your car testing methods. Sure, you can use your old fashioned acceleration and braking tests, but when testing out a $380,000 Rolls Royce Ghost and $250,000 Bentley Flying Spur, why not also try to see which one can paint with acrylics? That sounds weird, but just watch the video to see what it means. The Rolls Royce Ghost has a 6.6-liter twin-turbo V12 engine that generates 563 horsepower. You don’t see one of these luxury cars on a drag race strip very often, but when they take it through its paces in this video, it manages to do 0 to 60 miles per hour in 4.4 seconds and takes a quarter mile in 12.8 seconds, hitting a top speed of 113 miles per hour. You could do worse in a 5,500-pound luxury car.
The Bentley Flying Spur is powered by a 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12 engine that produces 616 horsepower. It does 0 to 60 in 4.3 seconds but is a hair slower than the Ghost during the quarter mile run, completing it in 12.9 seconds and reaching a top speed of 107 miles per hour. This simple testing suggests the Flying Spur is the better accelerator of these two luxury cars, but the Ghost has the edge for top speed. So of the two, which luxury car would you guess has the $40,000 paint job? Check out the showdown below to find out more. If you like it, ‘Share’ it.
