As this video teaches us, “Exercise, It’s Good For You.” We all know this is true. I’ve even heard reputable doctors and researchers go so far as to claim that exercise is the closest thing we have to a fountain of youth. Nobody really wants to get older and deal with all the physical problems that aging causes, so why don’t more people make exercise a top priority? It’s true that people are busy, and it can be hard to find time, but I suspect that in a lot of ways, any exercise excuse is really just a cover for one of two scenarios: One, the person doesn’t care about the benefits of exercise. If so, that’s fine. It’s their body after all, and they can do what they want. Or two, the person would like to get the benefits of exercise, but it’s just too hard and unpleasant. They can’t get over the feeling of dread and force themselves to start or stick to an exercise routine.
The second scenario is where motivation is helpful, and for creating motivation to exercise, I think this video does the trick. As I’m typing this, it’s getting late at night, and I still have some things to do before bed and have to get up very early tomorrow. One of the first things on my agenda tomorrow is to exercise, and to be honest, I’m dreading it. I’m going to be tired and grouchy, and I really just want to get an extra 30 minutes of sleep and not exercise. But after seeing the good that exercise has done for this woman and her mental toughness in this short exercise video, even if she is acting, it makes me realize that I can get out of bed early, fit my exercise in, and then go about my day and be just fine.
